Found this on Flickr and it's exquisite. The beauty of the water. Yet my thoughts are with New Orleans. This morning my local radio station told of the utter devastation and chaos there. But beggaring belief, people there are shooting each other, looting and raping. Is this humanity? You can understand people, desperate people wanting food and water and safety but killing each other? The deep south has always been a strange place. The reporter said that he couldn't believe he was in America. That he'd seen better relief aid in Africa.
Too wrapped up in a stupid war miles away. Sent even the national guard away. Too busy to help his own people. What is Bush thinking?
Tony Blair would be out there bailing water... or at least making Cherie do it.
So sad, I always fancied visiting New Orleans someday. Looks like that won't be possible in my life time.
I can't send any relief money though, to a country that's spending billions on war and killing. Divert the money to help those who most need it... look South guys.
