The news hounds are certainly getting hyped up about MRSA. Hmph Superbugs rule :-/
We haven't had any on my unit. I guess working with kids and babies we are OTT to extreme with handwashing. I'm the same at home. We use masses of handsoap and not that anti bacterial stuff either. No need for that.
I laughed at my mate Clarrie though who heard on the radio this morning that hospitals were to be issued with 'Alcoholic Jelly', nice thought. But she misheard (too much lambrini) and it's Alcohol hand gel.
Tsk, This stuff's been around since the year dot. We have it for each individual patient but I only use it in emergency situations when I can't wash properly....Normally a decent handwash is enough.
I think I'm a bit obsessive with germs though, I don't touch toilet doors, I use a tissue or my sleeve. And if I see someone use a public loo and not the sink I nearly gag.
