American Aid

The local radio spent ages today discussing New Orleans and the moral issues of sending Aid to America, it being the richest nation on Earth. The general public were divided. Most being disgusted with the politicians but touched by the plight of the refugees of the Hurricane. It's almost letting Bush off the hook to send cash, so he doesn't have to dig deep for it. But the worry is if we don't help...will they just let those people die? Seems so.
We discussed it in work as well. The doctors said that we wouldn't expect multi national help here, we'd get on with it ourselves. Remember all those little boats saving those soldiers from the Normandy beaches?
I'm very cross with Bush, but as someone said.. when something terrible happens around the world we always expect America to provide Aid.
