Abby came home from school quite hysterical tonight. Her last lesson was Maths and it was awful. Total classroom anarchy. She'd had stuff thrown at her and a huge textbook launched at her head. She said the teacher was totally crap, ineffective and laughable. He didn't even call for staff support which is an excellent service at the school. In the end she walked out, she wasn't the first either. Another girl walked out first in tears.
I was surprised. I'd rang the head of year this morning and she promised that it was under control, they knew all about it and she had it covered. Abby says she's not going back to maths again. She doesn't feel safe in her class. She feels as if she's in danger. How can kids learn in those conditions?
I don't know what to do next. I know she's unhappy though and that's bad. She's had enough unhappiness in her life.
Any advice?
