Fate

I've got a cousin from my Dad's side called Carrie who I used to go see now and again. Her dad died a few years back and she's had lots of problems and when I was ill she moved house. We lost touch. I found a picture about 6 months ago of her dad when he was a little boy. A really lovely picture and I wanted to give her it, every now and then I'd think of her, then as is par for the course I'd forget.
This morning I was awoken by the Radio Bristol news (yeah I know crap) They were interviewing a little girl from a school near Bath. The child was called Olivia. I knew instantly it was Carrie's child. I just knew it. Olivia and Danielle are the same age bar two weeks apart.
So today I set about trying to find out Carrie's address and I found an old mobile phone number and rang it when I got home from work. It was her! She'd been thinking about me too. Made my day really.
I was thinking about friends today. Nichole came to Abby's show with us last night. She was such a hit with Abby's mates. They all thought she was really cool. On the way home she said she wished she had mate's like that. One's she could take home to her Mum. She said her mum would really like all of those kids.
Actually they are a very cool bunch, very responsible and mature, really fun and fresh though. Open to ideas and suggestions but bursting with new ideas and enthusiasm. I love talking to them and they listen.
Why can't it be like that with Abby? lol. I bet they say that about their parents.
You know, you have to give people a chance. Get to know them a little. Never judge from first impressions. We got a doctor at work that a few of the girls have moaned about a bit.
But he's ok you know. He's a good doctor and knows his stuff. He's got a whacked sense of humour and isn't normal (what is normal!) and I get really pissy if people moan about him. They never even took the time to talk to him.
Give everyone a chance. You might be surprised what you find.
Oh I watched HTV's extreme makeover show tonight (make me beautiful please). I thought it was good. But I did smile at the difference between us and the Americans. Gone was the drum roll for the 'reveal' gone was the slushy talk overs, the over the top thankyou's, the ugly duckling to gorgeous beauty line. Just a down to earth British version.
And wasn't that tall girls man short? Mind he looked pretty fit. I'd do him.
And on that note, Goodnight xxx
