Witchfest Day

The day started bright and early and lazily, we didn't pick up Shaly until 09.30 am and the train was 09.50 ooops. Due to some fab driving and running three red lights we made it with two minutes to spare. Why did we pick the hottest day, in the year so far?
The train was cool. The girlies excited, Shay doesn't have an MP3 player (what!!) so she pinched mine. Damn no listening to War of the Worlds or Barbra Streisand (in honour of Derek of course).

Abby and Shaly discover 'Penthouse between the sheets' on the iPod.

Witchfest was in the millennium Stadium this year. You have never met a more friendly lovely bunch of people. Everyone spoke to us, everyone was happy. Ready to explain and help. The bar was sooo expensive though, a complete rip off tbh. Ten quid for 4 small glasses of coke poured from a bottle and 2 muffins. Disgraceful.
The girls bought small novelties. Abby fancies herself as a psychic and bought Tarot cards. Then it was the Magic Wand workshop. Run by the lovely Sarah, the girls had fun pouring their energy into their very own wand. Shaly didn't quite finish hers as she wanted to do more at home. Men women and kids all pouring over their piece of Birch wood. Very cool.

I didn't make a wand. I wanted to see the stadium, but that side was out of bounds. Not so for Trin. What do you do when you want to see something? Answer, find a welsh security guard and flutter eyes at him.Tell him welsh men are the best (they are too) and hey presto instant access. The stadium is massive, impressive and breath taking (so was the security guard). They're taking away the turf for the u2 concert next week.

The guard told me tales of fights up in the very high seats, concerts. Tankers drank dry of beer. Royal visits and exciting speedway nights.

We were going to go shopping after the fest but it was soooo hot, unbearable and the shops were packed. Some guy grabbed Shalys bum and made some lurid comment so she put a hex on him with her wand. She wished him run over by a bus. I went mad, that's not what your wand is for I told her, so she changed it to a very slow moving bus. Tsk

Abby and Shaly at the bar in the ultra cool Hard Rock Cafe. Full of very cool people as Motley Crue were playing Cardiff today. The food was delicious, really great. The staff are aces and the ambiance second to none.

The pink Guitar is from Kiss. These guys must be from a band. They were foreign and people kept taking their photos. The photographers were European as well, we had no idea who they were but the staff were making a big fuss of them.

The train platform home. The delicious looking BR food. Note the pastry has a slight green tint to it and so does the coffee. Shay thought this was gross. Think Upper Crust need a new poster.
So Home we race for Doctor Who. Which was bloody brilliant, Abby cried at the loss of Christopher Ecclestone. Billie Piper was dynamic. It made the hairs go up on my .................. Well less of that.
A good day.
Saturdays will be lacking from now on.
