The Locked up Lemon Juice

I fancy pancakes today. Comfort food no doubt. Things that remind me of happy times. So I looked for Jif Lemon Juice in the Co-op. Couldn't find it so at the tills I asked. It's locked away. Druggies use it as a base for the drugs they prepare to inject.
I never knew that. She said Pancake Day is the funniest when it's buy a Jif Lemon and get a pancake mix free. They never take the free mix.
How sad.

A large number of the clients who use the Mobile Exchange have disclosed that they use Lemon Juice or Jif Lemon as an acidifier when preparing Heroin or Crack Cocaine for injection.
On a number of occasions, when questioned, clients state that they use Lemon Juice or Jif Lemon because they cannot purchase Citric in the West End.
According to the Safer Injecting Briefing - Derricot, Preston and Hunt:
'Lemon juice, whether fresh or bottled, has been associated with thrush and other fungal infections within the body, which have been reported to cause loss of vision and blindness due to retinal damage (candidal ennophalmitis). It has also been associated with endocarditis and other conditions'
A number of our clients have reported problems with their eyes after using Lemon Juice or Jif Lemon."
