Very Superstitious, writings on the wall

Why are we so spooked about Friday 13th? The bible professes the numbers 7 12 and 40 as having symbolic meaning and the number 12 was considered lucky....So naturally :-\ ? The number following 12 .... 13 was considered unlucky. Work that one out. Fridays aren't good days in biblical terms. Adam bit the apple on a Friday, Jesus died on a Friday all big biblical things.
But aside from the bible, Friday came to be called "witches' Sabbath." For it was believed that on this day, each week, twelve witches and the Devil met - thirteen evil spirits up to no good! This is one of the reasons for today's superstition about Friday the 13th.

Back to reality. We had the biggest thunderstorm yesterday and lashings of heavy rain. I was at work and some of the old wives tales superstitions coming out of those girls mouths made me laugh. Have you heard of covering the mirrors in the house? Or putting away all the knives and forks? Anyways so far so good, Friday the 13th is ok for me today. The doctors was fairly non eventful. He refused to check my blood pressure incase he found it was high. Hmmm maybe my GP is governed by the great universe of superstition as well. Posted by Hello
