West Country Band Aid

My local radio station have made they're own Band Aid version. It's actually quite funny... I have lived and indeed still live in some of the places they're singing about!

It's Christmas time
There's no need to be afraid
At Christmas time, we let in light and we banish shade
In Brunel's world of Avon, we can spread a smile of joy
Put your arms around Bristol - at Christmas time
But say a prayer
Of thanks to the Westcountry,
Sometimes its hard, to park, but when your feeling down
There's a burnt out car in Hartcliffe,
And there's a pimp in Portland Square,
We've got Gas heads and the Robins, George from Asda's what we wear
From the lattes up in Clifton, to the Reckless Engineer,
Well tonight thank God Bristol, you're not alone
And there'll still be tramps on Gloucester Road this Christmas time.
The greatest gift they'll get this year is chips
Where no one ever goes (Stokes Croft)
Thugs, drunks, chavs and wine-oh - ho - hos
Do they know it's Christmas time in Knowle?
(Bedminster) Cabot Tower and Cotham Brow
(Darth Vader) Withywood, Yate, Totterdown.
Do they know its Christmas time in Knowle?
Feed the Wurzels
Bush & Troy are just a pile of shhh...
(repeat till end)

The chorus is sang by the West Country Wurzels. I met the wurzels once. On Holiday in Devon. We went to a show and my mate Gill invited them back to our caravan...where they drank all of the booze we had. They were ancient then...so now they must be moribund.
Anyways the Cd is funny with lots of clips of people like Vicky Pollard and interestingly..Jack Nicholson?! there's a clip here is you fancy a quick snippet.
Bush and Troy (breakfast show Dj's) are visiting Danielle's school tomorrow as well.
