goodbye inspiration for a while

I'm a bit confused tonight.
I wish I had someone who really knows me... You know like someone here to talk it through. But I'm really not sure about taking these new anti-depressants.
My issue is that I took so long to get off the last lot. It was such a battle, that I won eventually but it damn near destroyed me.
I'm a bit scared really, about how I'll be, how it'll affect me.
"Remeron's Typical Side Effects: Most of the anticholinergic effects common with psychiatric medications are infrequent with Remeron. Instead you get intense hunger for the wrong foods, and with that comes weight gain, dry mouth and constipation. Then you want to sleep a lot. It's like you may as well be smoking pot when you take Remeron".

I am scared. But what else can I do than take my psychiatrists advice? But then, why do I feel I'm being lead to the Lion's Den?

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us We had a good few weeks. A lovely wall collage that everyone had a part in. It was really good seeing the girls concentrating and sticking stuff on the wall, some of them have a bit of potential in design!
Then today we planted bulbs for Mothers Day.
Decorated the pots as well. Hope they grow! They were last years from B&Q.
Collette looked tired tonight. Poor girl doesn't stop. I have a sore throat tonight and been sneezy. Hope I haven't got bird flu.

Thanx A

ok I know but the teacher was real old.......

I went to see Abby's catering teacher. Dorothy. I'd been told by Abby and Charlotte that 'Dorothy' was a witch.
Three clicks of the red shoes and the bus will come Abby!Yeah right girls, we all said that about our teachers from time to time.
I fear the girls were right.
I introduced myself, and asked her if I could have a short word. We stepped outside. I explained the traumas the girls were having with the buses etc.
"Not my problem" , she muttered, "If they're late I tell them off and report them to school"
Ah yes, I tried to explain. That's the problem, the attitude that frankly no-one cares. That they don't want to be late but when circumstances are beyond their control what can they do?
The woman looked over my head and not directly at me. I studied her peroxide blonde perm and hard face, as she went into a rant about how she was forced to teach these 'kids' and that she had other schools exactly the same. The schools didn't care, they sent 'these kids' to her and she had all this work to get through with them... And etc etc....
I didn't want to say.. 'Hey woman the problem seems to be you and your attitude'. But that was what I was trying to get across in a polite way.
So I asked her to encourage attendance and say that if the bus was a bit late that they were still to come and she would support them.
Ummm. No She thinks not. She said she would continue to reprimand them and report them.
After all they were leaving school in a few months and they needed to learn responsibility.
Ok you know I understand that but at this present stressful exam, scary time when leaving school is imminent and nothing is stable in their lives, they are STILL children.
I told her that, she didn't listen.
She told me to take it up with the school, but she said you won't get anywhere.
Sadly she's right.
You know though, with a different attitude towards them, she'd get such a better response. She actually said that the first time Abby was late, when the bus wouldn't let them on, that Abby and Amy were rude to her. Their attitude was disgraceful.
I was mad, my kid is never rude to anyone (and Amy is the nicest inoffensive sweet girl you could wish to meet)
I told her I didn't believe her and asked her to think back that maybe the girls were more like frustrated at the total lack of empathy and understanding from any adults around them and what kind impression that had made on them?
Waste of words.
Yep, she's a bitch.

Hmm how to start?
Today was my psychiatrist appointment. I haven't seen him since January. My ideal. I felt good. I didn't want to see him in Feb. Probably a mistake.
I hate that old oppressive looking building. I was anxious. A feeling that seems to happen a lot lately. But more anxious. He was so pleased at my improvement last time. How could I tell him that I wasn't feeling so great?
I'd written him a letter on Sunday. When my head wouldn't stop racing and my anxieties seemed ridiculous.
I wasn't sure whether to give it to him. I felt better today. But I handed it over. At first he asked me to read it aloud, but I balked.
He read it, we discussed it. He said this month has been particularly hard for me. It was understandable, anyone would have been sad.
I asked if he was disappointed in me. "No" he said. "Why would I be?"
He told me that I was too hard on myself. That I couldn't be perfect. That I needed to express. Was most anxious that I got some counseling ASAP (yeah right)
Then said I was dipping a little. I needed to get on top of it and prescribed me anti-depressants.
Mirtazapine.
And how do I feel about that?
Well like crying actually. A bit of a failure.
I wish I was a bit of paper. I could scrunch up in a tight ball and be thrown in the waste paper bin.
He said some other stuff that I can't write here really. But stuff that made me sad and think that he was right, but that it will never happen.
He also said some stuff about one of my present obsessions that shocked me a bit.
Can't tell you, you'd really think me mad!
I'm not... I'M NOT MAD
Jeez in a minute YSL won't even come visit me. (I'm ok really).
I got Danz home wheezy and coughing. I made Abby go to school. But I'm taking her to college later to sort out the catering business. FFS!
Ok back to normality.

embrace me

"You should never fight your feelings,
When your very bones believe them,
You should never fight your feelings,
I have to follow nature's law".

One little sparkle in an obscure English end of Winter Day, was the new single from Embrace, played on the radio as I headed home.
Natures Law.
It made the hairs go up on my neck (yep I have a very hairy werewolf quality neck)
Ethereal, beautiful yet magnificent with it's powerful mix of guitars and vocals. The piano reminded me of Thirteen Senses in many ways. (I love thirteen senses)
I think it's far more passionate and lively than the earlier stuff.
I got tickets to see them amongst the trees in Westonbirt Arboretum in June.
Hey! I got something to look forward to. Isn't life embraceable?

a word from our potty hostess

I drove past a bus today advertising that awful "Hills have Eyes" remake on the side. Then I saw a TV advert for the Tarantino produced "Hostel"
What is the draw to go and watch people torn apart and terrorised?
I like Horror. I like Vampire movies and Ghost tales. I was a huge Hammer House Of Horror fan. My favourite reading is Horror, Stephen King, James Herbert, Dean Koontz and my all time Fav book Dracula by Bram Stoker.
But this isn't Horror, as the genre I love. I like to be frightened but I do not like to be disgusted and shocked.
Crikey mates, there's enough shockable stuff that happens in real life. We don't need vomit inducing fiction.
But these things have been playing on my mind. I seem unable to shake stuff lately.
Like the annoying song that goes round and round your head and won't leave. I keep seeing that Hills Have Eyes poster.
Maybe I'm taking life too seriously. I work better when I'm not serious.
Then nothing really matters. How does the song go? When you smile, the whole world smiles with you?
How about when you chop someone up with an axe. The whole world goes to the cinema to watch?
How about when you're a joke? Does the whole world play tricks with your head?
Take the hills have eyes off the side of the bus and put something pretty on instead then maybe I can stop fretting about it.

what's in a name?

"Oh Cathy, Oh Alison, Oh Phillipa, Oh Sue
You made me so much money,
I wrote this song for you
Jennifer, Alison, Phillipa, Sue, Deborah, Annabel, too
I wrote this song for you
Jennifer, Alison, Phillipa, Sue, Deborah, Annabel, too
I wrote this song for you"

Beautiful South (1989)

Next door have called their baby Lannie. Trouble is, it's pronounced Laney. She's going to have to correct people all the time.
We get that in work all the time. People use some obscure spelling like Abegayle. Then they frown when you don't pronounce it right.
You can only use the rules of the English language when make assumptions of pronunciations.
We had a poor little Asian kid called Meboob in a few weeks back.
Apparently it's a common Indian name.. But imagine the jibes at school?
For some reason we'd had a run of Shaniquia and Shanias. One poor baby boy was called Romeo-Valentine, or RV for short. Ah well nothing beats Lemoni-Sparkle for me though.
I got my new council tax bill for next year. They STILL haven't given me single persons discount. I phoned them. No word of a lie it took me an hour and 7 minutes to get through.
I answered the same questions again about being single, filling out forms etc etc... They're looking into it... AGAIN.
I'd forgotten the loft insulation men were coming today. So I've had men in me roof. Oooer.
Abby's home from school AGAIN... mumble mumble.
The loft men didn't know she was in her room. She said they were talking some crap, they thought no-one could hear them. Danielle has got McFly posters on her door. They were taking the piss out of them. Then giving the low down on the exploits of their girlfriends. There was an awkward moment when Abby got a text. They both checked their phones. "It wasn't mine"... "Nor mine" they exclaimed. Abby was cringing in her room.
My neighbour just came in. She had her window put through last week. Apparently the woman who lived there before her was a 'grasser' so she's liable to be targeted.
Bloody hell. She's lived there nearly a year now. Some people haven't got 2 brain cells to rub together.
The cops asked her if she was going to move because of it... Ummm talk about helpful!

Had to do it Abby!

I wanna be like my Mommy
I found this picture. Abby's third birthday, six months before I had Danielle.
Abby cooks and cleans whilst being a nurse...
So what happened? She had such a promising future..............

I've always loved to swim

get that damn ring thing off of me! The chubby blonde next to me is my brother. This is Pontins Brixham. We had rather a lot of Holiday Camp Holidays when I was a kid. Probably explains my love of organised entertainment and Bingo.

thoughts

"I'll buy you a diamond ring my friend if it makes you feel alright
I'll get you anything my friend if it makes you feel alright
'Cause I don't care too much for money, money can't buy me love"
The Beatles 1964

I've seen two completely different types of mothering this week. Both with much love but so strikingly opposite.
My neighbour's relative. A lovely girl. This is her fourth child. An uneventful pregnancy. To be honest she was too busy to give it a second thought.
She's a smoker, which is bad. Possibly my only frown upon her. But each to their own. But she's given birth to this teeny baby yesterday, 5 lbs and is up and about. Walking with the double buggy around the place. It's freezing cold here today but needs must and she has stuff to do.
Then I met a mother in work.
Middle classed. With the most cosseted baby. Everything perfect. But it wasn't. She was looking for things to be wrong. I have never seen anyone undress a baby with such care. It was as if she was dresden china. It took 20 minutes to remove a coat tights and dress.
The baby couldn't be taken into the outside world, so the family car had to come directly to the door.
Both good mothers, nothing to be concerned about. Both kids will grow up. It would be interesting to see which one has the most hang ups.
I'm kinda glad I live here.
I guess I'm really a down to earth girl.
I wanted to go out today and buy stuff for the teeny baby next door. That's a big problem of mine. I got her some stuff, some nappies and new bottles. But I mustn't go mad.
She was over joyed with just a few things. Bless her.
I like giving. Somehow when I give stuff it makes me be someone. Someone's friend maybe. But giving has got me in so much hassle over the years. An excess of giving can lead to abuse and financial ruin. For a while there I tried to buy friends.
You can't buy friends though, I sadly found out.
I've spent the morning thinking. Collette says I think far too much. My head is racing like a formula One Grand Prix. I wake up with a headache. My dreams have been so extreme and vivid. I think I'm going crazy (insert manic laughter lol).
Collette says I need to let stuff go and move on.
Anyone got a thought removal van handy?

night sodding world.

I've had an ok kind of day. Been busy really. No time to think. I don't do thinking too well and now I'm going to bed because the mind cogs are whirling and I'm feeling kinda pissed off with stuff.
Now I know not everyone thinks, does or even has the same ideas about life as me. Maybe that's for the best.
But there's a track I work along. I follow the lines and even when I'm a bit erratic and I'm not quite right, I have never moved off of that track. It's me, it's who I am and it will eventually take me to the end of the rail.
I think it's not so different to everyone else's pathway.
Then why the fuck do people not do the things I think and hope they will.
Why am I disappointed time and time again?
Fuck the lot of it. I'm going to bed.

ooooh yeah baby...

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usSuck and Blow... Alright yes ok I know ;)
But in reality Vacuums do NOT translate to sex. Yet Karcher are marketing the vc6300 as sexy.
"Small feathers are floating down to reveal a couple laying lovingly in bed as the message *Love doesn't care about dirt is shown.. Karcher"
Since when has vacuuming up the shit from our shoes been sexy? Noisy, dusty back breaking and disheartening because no sooner have you done it then some bloody kid or cat has got dirt on the carpet again.
But here we have the advert with some scantily clad nubile young girl romping around with some young hunk in bed... With feathers flying all around them.
I have one question...
Which one of our young lovers is going to have to vacuum that fecking crap up?
*Answer is Love DOES care about dirt!!
One more thing.
If you're still convinced this vacuum is pure sex with a nozzle... check out the actual product. Bright yellow and pod like... Mind you it does have a fleece dust bag and a Suction hose with soft grip handle

Baby Day

What a Baby Day we had. We took Sophia for lunch. As you can see she held court and didn't eat a thing. She flies home tomorrow. Safe Flight Baby.
Then my neighbour had her baby. Here she's not even a day old. 5lb in weight and as yet unnamed.
And lastly MY baby. Bailey hates babies.
Oh yes, I was woken up by cats screeching and growling last night. I went downstairs to find another cat had got in through the cat flap. Taylor was staring him out in the kitchen and Bay was cowering in the front room.
Damn cat flap. Bailey won't use it and half the neighbourhood cats come in to eat the food.

Dirty soap suds

I hate soaps. I hate the crap churned out by Coronation Street and Eastenders week after week. The show's writers aim is to manipulate our emotions every day. The same shit happens to the same characters continually. Look at Eastenders 'Little Mo'... Now who the feck named her Little Mo? Obv. someone who didn't like her. Then she loses her mum, marries a child beater who nearly kills her, meets a loser (Billy) gets raped, has a baby by the rapist, then her loser husband leaves her ... And still bad stuff is happening to this totally unbelievable character.
Now Billy has shacked up with Honey. Honey has a dad called Jack whose now sharing bodily fluids with Peggy and helping little Mo's dad with his Rhubarb growing. Honey has a heart condition and might die if she has a baby... So of course the silly cow gets pregnant (and we're meant to warm to her and fret about this?). Meanwhile Sonia, had a boyfriend who was mowed down and killed by a drunk driver called Martin... She then of course (as you do) married Martin, had a baby gave it up, found the baby again and turned lesbian. Next week Martin finds her munching the rug with fellow student Naomi (who has a face like the back of the number 57 bus)
Why do we watch such utter shit?
Crikey we even have Soap Awards when these 2 bit actors dress up and get awarded for the most Emotionally manipulating moment.
I stumbled upon a soap forum by accident. My jaw dropped when I saw that there were 2456 users on the forum at that moment... 2456 people haven't got anything else to do but log onto a forum and discuss soaps?
2456 people without a brain cell between them?
Ummm yes.
I spotted a fascinating thread entitled
"pat nacked under her fure coat".

Roughly translated for the intelligent as " Pat (Butcher) naked under her fur coat".
A traumatic event even if it was spelt correctly.

A deeply traumatised Joshua prays that neither of these ugly bad actors is his father.
He's thinking of swapping soaps to Hollyoaks. Least the actors over there are of the beautiful variety. Plus the girls... corr.

Finally a word from our sponsor... quote found on the BBC website.
Vicki Bayard is a Script Editor for the show. She explains how stories are ... The first time I saw my name on the credits of EastEnders I started to cry

We know how you feel love. There,there....

send in the sex dolls

Mexico fights discrimination with sex dolls.:

"Mexico's government is using blow-up sex dolls in a new TV campaign against sexual harassment in the workplace.
The ads feature dolls, dressed as secretaries and maids, who have to put up with leering and groping from male colleagues.
Officials say the aim of the campaign is to make clear that women are not sexual objects."

The campaign has the backing of President Fox that well know female advocate who was recently heard to describe women as "washing machines with two legs".

Who the feck advises the government on these matters? The chief executive from Ann Summers maybe?
Mexico. Hardly the purest voice in these matters anyways.

Crazy old Mexico. Bless.

Because he used the word Twat?
Bloody hell. That's a term of Endearment round these parts.
His blogging is funny and gritty and encourages me. To see that there's other people around doing their best to live with this damn illness. None of us want to be this way, his humour makes my day and if he stopped blogging I'd be very upset.
And we wouldn't want to upset me would we?

Friday Snippets.

Busy Busy day at work. On the way I saw a Burger van drive by with the name
D&V Catering on the side.
Jeez. There's a warning plain and simple.
One of the nurses had to sign a form for an Ambulance driver today... Who then asked for her telephone number. Unsurprising... She's a beauty. Except the paramedic was also a girl. Hmmmm.
Oh and anyone who may have read the post below... I'm not working illegally. I got my act together and trained at another regional Hospital (eventually). I still laugh at the flowers line though.
Flowers aren't even allowed on wards anymore. Flower water breeds pseudomonas.
Nasty Germies. Neither are balloons or charity bracelets. They contain latex.
We are a latex free environment.
Trinity Towers is just a man free environment. Shame really.

a short tale

Sarah and Me many years ago... well ok not that many seeing as I am only 36.I started college at 17. Nursery Nurses College was run by Miss Bastien. A very proper older woman. We were taught about how to put our clothes in Moth Balls for the summer and how to basket weave.
(Shame it wasn't tyre changing!)
We learnt how to project yourself when reading stories. We wore lilac leotards for dance and Movement. We studied the environment and read poetry.
For the first year I was a model student.
I liked the placements. I spent a year in deepest Knowle with the council kids. But the nursery was run to the highest standards and when they entered the building their behaviour was expected to be of the most respectable fashion... guess what? They behaved. A lesson to be learnt there.
I felt like I didn't belong there though. A College. I wasn't posh enough. I wasn't finishing school material.
In the second year I'd worked out that with a fraction of common sense you could walk that course and gave up trying.
I'd hide in the basement with Janie, Sarah and Elaine. Janie was posh but also didn't like the Establishment way of thinking. Churning us out like little Posh Nannies to the rich.
Janie was a smoker. When I look back, that college house was a tinder box. With its narrow wooden stair cases and old victorian fixtures. A grade 1 listed building. No fire exits and full of young silly girls.
bath parkI passed my exams and took a job as a Nanny. To Lucinda and Charles. Two very spoiled and mixed up kids. Their mother was some relation of Winston Churchill. They lived in Bath by the park. Sion Hill, very smart. Mother didn't work. She just wanted someone to help with the kids and around the house. And show off as a staus symbol.
The kids didn't like me, particularly Charles who was really a baby and only wanted mummy.
I didn't like his mother. She was cold and unfriendly and I was homesick.
One day she made me iron 24 of her husbands shirts and berated me for not knowing how to make a basic rout sauce.
Then one day she sent for my parents. Told them I was not what she expected. I'd come so highly recommended and she was shocked at how useless I was.
My Dad gave her short shrift and took me home.
My sisters had rearranged our bedroom (3 of us shared one room) I didn't have a bed anymore. I felt like a failure.
I signed on the dole. My one and only time. I took a job as a supply nursery nurse. To places that needed staff because of sickness etc.
I got a job at Morning Place Day Nursery. Maybe 2 days a week but the cook went off sick and I got her job.
It was the making of me. I had to cook for 30 kids and the staff. Simple stuff like Cheese and potato pie and fish fingers but it was a feat. It meant organisation and planning and I liked it.
I also worked in the nursery.
One of the little girls (Bryony) was a favourite of mine. Aged 3 blonde and quiet.
One morning she didn't turn up for nursery... we didn't see her for days then the police came.
Her dad had killed her.
The nursery was privately run and the boss was all about money money money. I didn't like him or his wife and felt nervous around them.
Nervous people don't project themselves well and I knew I wouldn't get a full time job with them.
I went with my mum to go to the doctors with my little sister one day. There was a health visitor there. She got talking and suggested I think about going into nursing.
I thought about it.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.usNursery Nursing was hard work and little pay and around Bristol, there wasn't much opportunity for full time employment unless you wanted to be a Nanny. I didn't.
I applied to the BRI and got an interview. I went through the whole fiasco. A medical, measured for my uniform, tours, references and a final interview. I went to a small airless room with a panel of women all looking at me.
A stern looking senior nurse asked me questions.
Then she asked "So tell me what you think Nurses do?"
I froze. I thought about nurses on TV, things I'd seen. My voice clammed up and the room swam.
"Arrange flowers" I croaked.
I didn't get accepted.

crazy world

Some people are so incredibly stupid It beggars belief that they survive.
One Christmas at work one of the babies dads not understanding the door buzzer system and not being able to open the door to the unit climbed through a tiny top window in the ladies bathroom and landed on a woman in there sat on the toilet.
Yesterday was crazy day at work. We had in some very odd families.
The ones I find hardest to deal with are the ones who insist there's something wrong with their obviously very well children. Then as they get older the kid starts to believe there's something wrong with him and the vicious circle continues.
I guess (as I am) I should understand mental illness?
Anyways someone just sent me these on email and I laughed.

ONE
Recently, when I went to McDonald's I saw on the menu that you could have
an order of 6, 9 or 12 Chicken McNuggets. I asked for a half dozen nuggets.
"We don't have half dozen nuggets," said the teenager at the counter.
"You don't?" I replied.
"We only have six, nine, or twelve," was the reply.
"So I can't order a half dozen nuggets, but I can order six?"
"That's right."
So I shook my head and ordered six McNuggets.
TWO
I was checking out at the local ASDA with just a few items and the lady behind
me put her things on the belt close to mine. I picked up one of those "dividers"
that they keep by the cash register and placed it between our things so they
wouldn't get mixed. After the girl had scanned all of my items, she picked up
the "divider", looking it all over for the bar code so she could scan it. Not finding
the bar code she said to me, "Do you know how much this is?"
I said to her "I've changed my mind, I don't think I'll buy that today."
She said "OK," and I paid her for the things and left.
She had no clue to what had just happened.
THREE
I was in a car dealership a while ago, when a large motor home was towed into the garage.
The front of the vehicle was in dire need of repair and the whole thing generally looked like an extra in "Twister." I asked the manager what had happened. He told me that the driver had set the 'cruise control' and then went in the back to make a sandwich.

Kaiser Chiefs 2005

I've been trying not to blog for fear of imploding in a mess of misery.
I'm so damn miserable. It's seeping out in every single aspect of life. The kids, work, home, relatives, everything.
I haven't been like this for months. I've had down days, I've had stuff go wrong and been upset but the persistent every day feeling of misery is beginning to overwhelm me.
It isn't stuff happening to make me unhappy. It's just my head. Tears are merely a hairs width away. If you say certain trigger words the tears fall. I've cried at work most days. I hide it most times and am cross with myself. But it won't go away.
The car had a flat tyre last night. I tried to cope but the boot seems not to have the necessary tools to change a tyre... Not that I can see anyways.
I agonised over asking for help and rang my sister's boyfriend and just cried and cried on the phone until the poor man came over and 2 minutes later it was all changed and he was gone.
I think my main problem is the feeling of isolation. Now this isolation is self induced. The inability to allow anyone in to help.
I have pushed people away. Stay away and you can't hurt me. They can't say stuff I don't want to hear, They can't hurt me by their actions and they can't hurt me by their inaction and not being psychic and understanding what I need.
I don't like reading texts or emails just in case they say something bad.
The internet, my oasis, isn't my Oasis at all. It's a thing... It won't make me happy. In fact over the years it's made me very unhappy at times.
I feel insanity is bubbling under and the only thing stopping me crossing the line is ME. Yes, me. I'm the only one that can do it.
That realisation is what will make me always ok. I will be fine in the end.
I just wish the end would hurry up.

the bus that drives through penge
I like CSI In fact it's one of my fav programmes. But I only like CSI. Why do we have to have CSI Miami or CSI New York? What was wrong with just CSI?
Anyways, to redress the obvious bias toward large American cities.
I've decided to petition for a CSI Penge.

This actually bus drives through Penge. Red for a reason Grisholm?

expose a cheat?

Don't date him girl? Hmm why is it I feel sorry for these guys. They haven't had the opportunity to tell their side of the story. We all know a woman scorned is vicious and imagine if they had a 'don't date this bitch' website?
Maybe they should it would be fairer.
Nope don't like it.
Nice hat though Dave.
